Project
This project explores how texture and tactile perception can become a primary artistic method rather than an extension of visual form. It builds on my ongoing work with material surfaces and marks a shift from intuitive use of texture towards a more conscious and structured approach to accessibility within artistic practice.
The project is not focused on producing finished works, but on building a method. Its outcomes include a body of material experiments, a developing tactile “dictionary” and ongoing documentation of the process. This documentation is presented through this site as part of the research itself.

The research is informed by the idea that perception is not limited to vision. Touch, memory and sensory association can shape how we understand and experience form. Through this project, I am interested in how texture can carry meaning, rhythm and emotional weight beyond what is seen.
The work is developed through a series of research cycles, combining studio-based experimentation with collaboration. Each cycle focuses on testing specific material qualities such as density, scale and contrast. These experiments are explored both individually and through shared sessions with participants, including people with visual impairments, whose experiences contribute to the development of a more inclusive and materially grounded approach.
